I heard that there was concern at the Intel race on 23rd May at the absence of Dave Brady (McGrath Construction). Dave is one of the most loyal BHAA runners and rarely misses a race. It turns out that Dave had another commitment that day – the Burren Marathon in Clare on Saturday 23/05/09.
Then, just to avoid stiffness, he ran the Adamstown 8km race in Dublin on Sunday 24/05/09, because he had to keep in shape for the Newry Marathon on Monday 25/05/09. And being the loyal clubman that he is, he ran the first race in the Raheny Shamrock summer series (a two mile race) in Raheny on Tuesday 26/05/09. Because of the nice weather, he went to Cork and ran the bank holiday marathon there on Monday 01/06/09. Click on "read more"…
And where did I find out all of this? I bumped into Dave as he was finishing a 20km leg (the longest – leg 7) of the Wicklow Way Relay last Saturday 06/06/09 in Tinahely, Co. Wicklow. Needless to say, Dave’s parting remarks were "see you on Tuesday night". The three marathons were all run in under four hours.
Dave Brady is 58 years of age. Good to see that he is in such good shape.
