Garda/St Raphaels CU Xcountry 4 mile
It appears that many people did not get the Garda results last Monday. Don’t know why but here they are again.

There was a great attendance at the Phoenix Park for the Garda / St. Raphael’s Credit Union cross-country races on Saturday last.
It was a very good production overall with great refreshments afterwards too so our thanks go to Kevin Grogan, Brian Brunton and colleagues for their hard work.
Unusually for cross-country, it was a combined race and while this may have deterred some, the numbers were very high for both men and women. In the men’s category, Colm Turner (Spar) won comfortably again, with Feidhlim Kelly (Irish Runner) second and Robbie Matthews (Wellmann International) in third. In the women’s category, Mags Greenan (HSE) was well ahead of Mary Jennings (Teachers) who was followed home by Ciara Dillon (KPMG). There were 34 men’s teams in the results and there was loads of useful running gear for prizewinners. The results are now attached.
I notice that there were quite a few runners from Guinness Dublin. Their teams were prominent competitors in BHAA events in the past and it is good to see them in the results again.
There are photos at the following link:

If you have any comments on the race, or on any other BHAA race, please send them to me and I will pass them on to the relevant person who provides feedback to race organisers.
The next race will be the NUI & AIB cross-country races at the NUI campus in Maynooth on Saturday 15 March 2008 at 11.00 (women – 2.5 miles) and 11.30 (men – 4 miles). More directions will follow later.
Before the results of the Garda race were announced on Saturday, the prizes for the two most recent leagues (Winter 2006-07 and Summer 2007) were presented to many grateful prizewinners. Declan Horgan has also updated the leagues for the results of Saturday’s races.
Finally, lost property: I acquired a pair of black Nike leggings and a brown belt possibly left behind at the NCF race in Swords recently. If anyone thinks they are theirs, let me know.
Bye for now.
