The Eircom Cross Country 2014 race was held on Sat 18th Jan in very tough and wet conditions in Cherryfield Park, Firhouse.
In extremely testing conditions the Ladies 2 Mile race was won by Ailish Malone followed in closely by Jean Wilson, back to back wins now for Kevin Maunsell who followed his win at the SDCC race by taking the eircom race and in 2nd place was Michael Carmody.
Great numbers turning out given the conditions with over 250 runners taking on the sticky and slippery course 9But sure isn’t that what XC is all about!
More photo’s (See the new Photo’s Tab!) than you can swing a stick can be seen here and our thanks go to Kevin and Joe for their expert eye in capturing these pics in what must’ve been terrible conditions for photography out on the course.

Results were promptly to hand after the race and the very welcome post-race mountain of brack, tea and coffee at race HQ in Ballyboden St Enda’s GAA Club was devoured by the hungry runners who were very complimentary of the great spread put on by Tom and his helpers.
Our thanks to the many volunteers on Catering, Car Parking, Course, Registration, Photo’s, Video etc for without their assistance the race, now in it’s 7th year, wouldn’t have been possible. We hope the Course Stewards gear is dry at this stage !.
Thanks also to our Sponsor e-services & Communications Credit Union
Finally to the BHAA Committee our thanks for their behind the scenes work, we look forward to seeing you all back in Cherryfield next year.
