The BHAA recently purchased a defibrillator which will be available at all events, in the event that a runner has a cardiac event. The equipment can be found in the front seat of the BHAA van with a first aid kit.
Simple to use
They are simple and safe. The machine gives clear spoken instructions. You don’t need training to use one.
Once in position, the defibrillator detects the heart’s rhythm. It won’t deliver a shock unless one is needed.
The full user manual for using our defibrillator can be found here : Defibtech DDU-200 User Guide
It is our hope that the device will never have to be used at any of our events.
