As Shalimar might sing "let’s make it a night to remember…" and boy, did the Army & BHAA take that to heart. A fantastic nights running was enjoyed by all with a winning time, over 6k of some of the most "different" course, of just over 27:02 by Brian Kirwan of Askea Sports.
Orla Gormley in the O40 category & of Aer Lingus made light of those younger ladies & was first lady home in a winning time of 34:37.
Runners had to combat hills & hollows, water jumps & water dips, hills, Ropes, nets and hurdles making this one of the most unique races on the
It was superbly executed, well stewarded with first aid on hand in a number of location, easily accessible via walkie talkie and a huge amount of supporters.
Words such as "challenging" "fantastic”,"different" and "enjoyable" were amongst the feedback after the race.
The smoothly delivery didn’t stop there. Results and over 80 prizes were available in less than an hour of the final finisher. This interval was well put to use by the runners who were treated to fine dining with a choice of two dinner options and the usual refreshments.
These guys have really raised the bar on their first outing.
Well done to Colin Robinson and his team of merry men. We are delighted to welcome this race to the BHAA calendar and are looking forward to 2010 already!
