The next race is the Trinity Track races this Thursday, 14 May 2009 at 7pm. This will be held in Trinity College, Dublin 2. You will need to arrive earlier than that to register.
This is always a great night of racing so if you have never been there before, I urge you to get there. If you have been there before, you will know what I mean. There are various distances and categories on the night.
If there is a women’s team in your organisation (three people), you should try to round them up because, as far as I can recall, the St Patrick’s Chalice team prize was not won last year.
One piece of advice: it tends to get a bit cool later in the evening in Trinity so you should be sure to bring a fleece and a tracksuit.
Contact: Cyril Smyth by phone for 087-2245850 for more details. As always, if you are not running on Thursday evening and are at a looseend and are free to help out, please contact any member of the BHAA committee or the race promoter. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated!!
Please print off the attached flyer and put it on your noticeboard at work to encourage your colleagues to join in the fun.
That great annual event, the Trinity College track races, will take place on Thursday evening with the first race at 7pm. There will be three distance for all categories – 800 metres, one mile and 3,000 metres; men and women. Races will be held for ranges of standards so you will be running against people of roughly the same standard – people who have never won a race before will win races. You can run in one or all of the races for your category, all for the one entry fee. The weather forecast is good for Thursday evening so I would recommend it. It is a lovely event to participate in and you will enjoy racing at distances that are shorter than we normally run. You will even get tactical battles in the 3,000 metres where people jockey for position coming into the last lap or two. Great fun.
