There are no upcoming dates for this event.

[alert type=”notice”]BHAA and NCF regret to announce that the proposed cross country race in Swords on Saturday 2nd February is now cancelled due to recent adverse weather conditions affecting the parkland. Every effort has been made to keep the race on schedule but in the end, we had to give in to the heavy rain over the past few weeks. The final decision was taken today by Fingal County Council to withdraw permission for use of the Swords Park. The late decision reflects the efforts made by all to allow the ground to dry out but to no avail. NCF are naturally very disappointed that this race is now cancelled. On a more positive note, NCF would like to remind everyone that their floodlight cross country race in Malahide on 20th March is still on and look forward to welcoming everyone to that race.[/alert]

The North County Farmers cross-country races will be held at Balheary Park, Swords on Saturday next at 11.30am.
Men 5 miles and women 2.5 miles, with simultaneous but separate starts. Registration at Fingallians GAA Club (at the Fingallians Roundabout). Note that this is a different venue for registration from previous years. One thing that you can be sure about with this race is that you will have no trouble finding the place – there are always lots of directional signs.

Anyone know what bus to get from the city centre?

  2. David Gargan says:

Best Bus to get to race is the 33 that goes to Balbriggan/ Skerries via Swords, Get off in north street swords bus stop just after Carnegie court hotel / Estraury Pub. The Balheary playing fields is only 100 meters from bus stop. The other choices are the 41,41c, 43 but you have to off the bus in the main street swords bus stop opposite Fingal co co offices with Swords castle in front of you. Then just walk on down North street to Balheary paying fields, hope this helps

Registration will be open from 10am on Saturday, and if there are any injured or non-running BHAA members in the Swords who want to help out, we always have jobs for people.

The renewal dead line for 2012 members will be extended for this race. Any member who have not renewed on Saturday will be marked as INACTIVE for the Garda race on Feb 16th.

    Benefits of Mud Baths

Everyone deserves to be pampered once in a while, and few things are more relaxing than to submerge your body in a field full of mud. For thousands of years, people all over the world have believed in the healing powers of mud and it was popular long before the creation of the modern health spa.

One benefit of mud is its anti-inflammatory properties, soaking in it and its minerals can help alleviate aches and muscle pains. Another mud advantage is the soothing effect and its minerals, including sodium, magnesium and potassium can have on the skin.

In any case, the weather forecast is for a dry day on Saturday.
