  1. Willie Brazil says:

is Dunboyne AC far from Dunboyne train station?

  2. John O'Malley says:

@Willie, DAC is just over 1.3k from the station…
On leaving the station take a right, walking towards the village.
At the traffic lights turn left onto the Rooske Road.
The Track and Club-house is on the right hand side after about 750m.

  3. Willie Brazil says:

  4. AJ Cotter says:

It could be windy & wet but if you don’t go, you’ll miss a great race & a memorable evening.

  5. David Gargan says:

Super Job by Paul Gorey and all his team in Dunboyne tonite, well done to the catering crew on the great spread, on top of my list for race of the year so far, Excellent work as always by Paul And Brendan,Charlie,Bernard to name but a few and all on the registration tables on getting results together, It’s no easy task coping with high numbers and there is a lot of work goes on behind the scenes, well done to all concerned.

  6. Paul O'Connell says:

We’d a few missed chip reads on Tuesday and these runners have been marked as finishing in 1h5m email info@bhaa.ie with your details and we will correct the time and position.

    Dunboyne Delight

An enormous entry of 481 people ran and enjoyed the Government Services/Social Protection sponsored 5 mile race in Dunboyne on Tuesday. A poor weather forecast in advance should have affected numbers but this race has an ever growing reputation for being a fast course with exceptional afters, so it was bigger than ever on a calm, even balmy evening.
The start was changed a few years ago and this averted the starting scrums of the past & also avoided the sharp left hand turn in the first 50 metres . To say there are no hills on the course is untrue, just a few gentle ups followed by refreshing downs. There was no assault on the nasal passages as in previous years with no whiff of slurry anywhere, in fact, the stage was set for a 5 mile PB.

Cillian O’Leary won the race followed home by Pat Carey & Ben Swan while Fiona Reid, Rachel Morgan & Mary Finn were the top three women.
A huge well done to Paul Gorey, the Government Services/Social Protection Group, Dunboyne AC & the BHAA for a spectacular evening followed by the customary mountain of food & all outdoors too. This event has won the race of the year title before & may triumph again judging from the wildly positive feedback thus far.
See you all for more fun & racing in Trinity on Wednesday June 12th.
