We’ve setup two online tickets for the upcoming garda event. Day members who only want to run one race during the year can now register for 15e and avoid the paperwork on the morning at registration. For existing BHAA members who have logged in with their user accounts, will see an option to register for 10e online. Again – registation will also be available on the morning of the race from 9.30 to 11.
The Annual membership form has been re-enabled via the join page.
I know many of you have been suffering cold turkey since the Swords cancellation, all the more reason to run the 2012 Race of the Year in the Phoenix Park on Saturday. The Gardai always put on a great race with climbs, descents, muck & a wonderful post-race spread guaranteed.

It’s a large car park & you’ll get in if there early enough, otherwise people tend to park on the road outside, I don’t think there have been issues with this previously.
Wonderful race as ever, a contender for a race of the year double(after last year’s triumph). A huge well done to Anthony, Damian, Ian, Hugh, Will, John & the other Gardai plus the BHAA for a tough and rewarding race in great weather. I feared we’d need a chopper to rescue runners having trotted a little of the course earlier this week but the last few, almost dry days helped as did the natural drainage of this hilly part of Phoenix Park.
Ailish Malone(CRC), Laura Shaughnessy & Niamh Boland(Google) were the first three women home of 62 finishers, in the earlier 2 mile race. Cillian O’Leary(Secondary Teacher), Sam Mealy & Bernard Roe(Swords Labs) were the pick of the 230 who completed the men’s race. That’s just under 300 for a difficult cross country race in trying conditions. Long spike sales peaked in many of the specialist running shops over the last few days, who says men can’t wear stilettos & look good? We had a few fallers though nothing more serious than dented egos & the need for a power shower. See you all in ALSAA in Dublin Aiport next Saturday for more fun, games & muck.

First time trying this event . Is there ample parking at the Boat club ? Or where is next best place if that fills up quickly?

Perfect, Thanks AJ
