Dublin City Council Road Races 2013

InactiveDublin City Council Road Races 2013

There are no upcoming dates for this event.

Including final Lord Mayor’s 5 Alive Race Series

The Dublin City Council / BHAA Road Races this year in St Annes Park have new attractive features, which should appeal to many runners. Again they comprise a ladies 2 mile race at 11.00 am and 4 miles men’s race at 11.30 am. Ladies are welcome to run in the 4 mile race if they wish.

The race is part of the Lord Mayor’s 5 Alive Series and will have the Lord Mayor’s Team of volunteers running in their distinctive t-shirts. Also uniquely the Lord Mayor Naoise O Muire will compete in the race as he has done in all the race series.  It is a testimony to his personal contribution to health and fitness.

Another exciting feature is that the two mile and four mile races are completely within the park.  So it’s a parkland race of sorts, which includes new paths provided by the  Council.  This will be the inaugural race. The Bank of Ireland BHAA runners will hold a race amongst themselves in the 4 mile race  and DCC gladly  acknowledges their presence.

This is a fast flat course in a magnificent park with fabulous environment including the run down the long tree lined avenue. A treat for all grades. It will be interesting to see if last years winners Eoin Flynn and Kate O’Neill defend their trophies. As usual there will be the famous quiz with spot prizes , plenty of food and drink and the Lord Mayor Naoise O’Múirí will present the prizes.

The standard category of BHAA prizes will be presented. Enjoy another great race on a new course  on a fast flat course in one of Dublin’s iconic parks.

Good Public Transport.

There is DART access via Killester Station.

Buses include the 29A, 31, 32 to Howth Road (St Brigids Church) and 130 to junction of Clontarf Road / Vernon Avenue.

The 10/15 minute walk would be a good warm-up!

There is a new Team tab on the results page with yesterdays details. We’ll polish up the format and back date the team results for the recent winter league.

  2. Brian Tracey says:

Can someone please re-check the team results. We had 3 runners yesterday for the Dublin Fire Brigade and looking at the results we have only registered 1 runner Patrick Trappe. However i run for DFB having changed over at the Maynooth race and placed in a team in Maynooth and Derek Riordan is also registered as DFB but on the results hasnt got a house named. Cheers if ya can look at it

Same issue as Brian above. I’m on Retail A team but my time hasn’t registered for the race as part of the team result.

Could you check this for me please? It was fine for the Winter League. Thanks.

  4. Pol O'Murchu says:

Same problem here. Following quite a number of requests I finally managed to get listed as running with AIB but this has switched back to an older one. Perhaps a problem with the database used at registration? Either way I think we should have had two teams not sure if it affects results or not but would appreciate if this could be changed back to AIB again.

  5. Paul O'Connell says:

Results have been updated with the details via email and the comments here.

  6. Brian Tracey says:

    Thanks for the update paul

  7. Pol O'Murchu says:

    Good man Paul. Thank you.

  8. Paul O'Connell says:

We’d a few ladies who ran the 4mile and not the 2 mile. Matched up some extra team runners so the results from Saturday have been updated.

  9. Thomas Gallagher says:

Hi Paul, Can you please check results as my individual placing has not been updated on results page?

  10. Patrick Kennedy says:

Just wondering when the team prizes will be given out, thought it might have happened at the K club.
