New 10 K St Anne’s Park Saturday 7th April BHAA Dublin City Council

With the BHAA, Dublin City Council Runners Club is delighted to trial a new 10K combined race in the beautiful St Anne’s park. To mark the occasion thanks to sponsorship by DUCBCO credit union there will be a commemorative mug for first 500 entrants.
It will be a two lap race along the paths and though scenic tree lined areas. It will include the path with coastal views of Bull Island and Howth head. The park was the former home of the famous Guinness family.
It will feature the Lord Mayor’s 5 Alive Challenge team and indeed the Ard Mheara/Lord Mayor Mícheál Mac Donncha has indicated that he plan to walk in the race.
There will be refreshment and showers afterwards. The traditional quiz will take place in the Gym Hall where afterwards the Ard Mheara/Lord Mayor will present the prizes to individuals and teams.
The race start is at 11 00 a.m. on the central avenue close to Sybil Hill entrance. Race registration is at the adjacent Gym Hall of St Paul’s College

Race route
This is a two lap race and the entire route is in the park. The start is close to the entrance beside St Pauls School.
You run straight down the main avenue then left and do a small loop to come back across the main avenue right to head out behind the playground, go under a footbridge to the pathway closest to the coast road then left and follow this path which is inside the park up and run pass the duck pond and then you turn sharp left and then after about 800 metres left again followed by a right turn and you are then on a pathway just inside that side of the park.
The next left brings you past the tennis courts followed by a right turn past the All Weather pitch and, after another 800 metres, a left which brings you back to the main avenue in the park. On the first lap you will turn right before a sharp turn around point and then go back down the main avenue for the second lap. On near completion of the second lap you will turn right at the main avenue and then you have a 285 approximate metres sprint to the finish
