Email from the Editor 17 Oct 2008
It appears that some people have received a message that I attempted to send two weeks ago and that this message did not go out yesterday as intended. The Rathfarnham 5km race was last Sunday week. Sorry for the confusion. We are still trying to get the hang of a web-based email list manager etc. Click on "read more"….
Cross-country season is here again. Put the long spikes back in and enjoy the winter. There are some very interesting races lined up for the next couple of months.
On Saturday next 18 October 2008, we have the Teachers cross-country races at Castleknock College. This is the place that is the
headquarters for the summer race series. Four miles for men and two miles for women. Simultaneous starts at 11.00.
Obviously the marathon intervenes after that so our next race will be the Bank of Ireland Beach race on Saturday 8 November 2008 at Dollymount Strand. Registration at the Sea Scouts den. One combined race of 6km at 11.30.
There is a bit of a gap then until the next race. Note the changes to the previously published schedule. After regular follow-up from the BHAA committee, the race that was due to be held at Citywest has been cancelled and the schedule re-arranged as follows.
On Sunday 7 December 2008 (not the Saturday), the Data Solutions 5km will be held at Marlay Park, Rathfarnham at 10.00.
On Saturday 13 December 2008 (not the Sunday), the BHAA committee is pleased to announce that there will be a completely new cross-country race. Dave Corcoran of the National School of Remedial Therapy (NSRT) will put on a 6km cross-country race at The Ward, North County Dublin.More details will follow on this. This is a new purpose-built venue and I am sure it will be a fascinating event.
Also in there, the BHAA AGM will be held on Monday 1st December.
Hope to see lots of you on Saturday in Castleknock.
Bye for now.
