This tends to be a rather quiet time of year for the BHAA, with many runners preparing for the Lifestyle adidas Dublin Marathon on Monday, 27 October 2008.
If you need a race, here are a few that might be of interest to you but as always, click on "Calendar" at the very top of the home page for local, national and international races all the year round. On Saturday 18 October 2008 at 11.00am, we will have the first cross-country races of the season, the Teachers’ race at Castleknock College.
This coming weekend, there are a couple of interesting possibilities. If you are going to be in Cork, you could do the Cork to Cobh 15 mile race on Sunday. Registration at the Montenotte Hotel before 9.00am.
For those staying in Dublin, look no further than the Rathfarnham WSAF AC 5km road race on Sunday morning at 11.00am. This is a fast course (slightly downhill overall) so you should be thinking of a PB. Big cash prizes are on offer and there will be quite a nice kit bag for the first 500 finishers. Online entry through the club website, www.rathfarnhamwsaf.com, for €15 up to Friday evening. Collect number at registration. Alternatively, you can enter on the day for €20 up to 10.15am at race HQ in Terenure College on Templeogue Road. Check out a rough guide to the route here:
Keep up the training.
