2009 marks the 30th anniversary of the BHAA and there will be a celebration on Saturday 26th September 2009 at the Alexander Hotel, Dublin 2. That’s the same day as our BHAA Half Marathon which starts at 10am, giving you plenty of time to scrub up for a night on the town later. It promises to be a great night and is to mark our place and 30th year in Irish athletics, supported solely by volunteers and you, the runner.
The evening kicks off with a drinks reception, followed by dinner, live music and dancing. And possibly, more drinks! Prizes for the Individual Summer League will also be presented. Tickets will be on sale after each for the remainder of the summer and are a very reasonable €25 each. You can also contact any of the people below to reserve you places and tickets will be posted out to you. There will be a mix of current and past BHAA members, with some of the founding members from that very first meeting in Swords to organise the first Dublin City Marathon.
Tickets are limited to two per person as we want to make sure as many BHAA members as possible get to buy tickets. There will only be 270 tickets for sale so we are encouraging members to buy tickets early to avoid disappointment. We would be delighted to see some of the stalwarts from previous years so pass on the word in case they don’t receive emails/texts from us or don’t check the website. We are also keen that our newer members make it out on the night too as its a great way to mingle with some of the more experienced legs.
Tickets will also be available for sale from committee members Kathleen Horgan (086-4128887), Richard Dunne (087-6833012) and Deirdre FitzSimons (086-3742884).
