BHAA 2010 Season

General NewsWelcome to the BHAA 2010 season and we are looking forward to another great series of races this year. We would like to inform you of some rule and process changes for the 2010 season.

Declared Sector Teams
Up to now the BHAA committee has placed runners into sector teams, when they have had no chance of forming a team within their company. This system has been difficult to manage since it was unclear to runners who was on their team on a given day, and for committee to limit the size of the teams and predict who would turn up to run for a given sector team.

In order to ensure more clarity is brought to the sector teams area, we will introduce a "declared sector team" for all races this year. The basic idea is that a group of runners, all of whom work for different companies in the same sector, will declare that they will run as a team for the year.

Start of winter league @ Teachers XC

General News
Winter leagues starts next week in the Teachers Cross Country in Castleknock in October until NUI & AIB in March.
This gives runners some great motivation to compete during the cold winter months with runners of their own ability and watch as good training and hard work can push them to new heights.
The BHAA individual league is all about you the individual runner.
- The concept of the Individual League is to reward consistent high performance of the most regular race attendees within a given grade structure.
- It is hoped it will give another opportunity for athletes to compete for places even if they are not members of the usual winning teams.
- In order to qualify for the Individual League athletes must be members of the BHAA during the league
The best finishing person of each Division gets 10 points. The second best finishing person of each Division gets 9.9 points.... and so on to the last finishing person in each “Division” in that race.
- All finishing   members of the BHAA should get some points based on their finishing position within their Division.
-  Over the course of the League each members’ total points from all races are added to determine the overall winner of each division.
You can miss TWO races over the league
- Race Promoters/Organizers’ will receive 10 points for their own race (as they won’t be racing themselves).
