Hi Paul, Could you confirm when the 2010 membership has to be in by in order for teams to count . Heard some miss leading info that could upset regular runners on teams.

Membership has to be renewed before Feb 1st for most runners. As regards the teams, the company team will all carry across, and we're in the process today of contacting all members who ran with sector teams, to remind them of the new process.

We've had a number of declared teams already registered, with Government Departments, Agencies and IT sectors all filling in teams.

We also have a couple of new company teams, such as Microsoft, SAP and Vodafone fielding teams this year.

The full list of teams can be found here : BHAA Teams 2010

Its only necessary to register a sector team once during the year, there after all the runners on the team will automatically be listed on the team at each race. The other way of saying it - you don't have to re-declare the team at each race.

We got three new sector team applications at eircom, men's construction, ladies hospitals and ladies government dept's. These will all be setup for the NCF race.

There also is interest from people who want to create a retail and second IT sector team, but they need runners for the team. Contact us if your interested in joining these teams.

I got a couple of questions via email, and answering them here might clarify it for others as well.

Do you mean we have to have like 6 girls on Team one and then another 6 on team 2 and so forth?

- Yes, but you can start a team with three ladies, and add three more during the year.

What happens if (like what usually does) only 2 turn up from each team, does that mean that Hospitals have no team in it because they have only have 2 from each?

- Yes, neither team would score in this case, since they don't have three members. It's up to team contact to only put down names of people who are likely to turn up.

Can we not just put everyone on the one team and hope that someone will turn up to make up one team as its hard enough to get people out as it is?

- The main idea with the declared teams is you now know the 5 other people on your team. The team can arrange to turn up to a race or not, and will know before the race starts that they are in the hunt for prizes. It should take the guesswork and randomness out of who's on a team at a given race.
